Sneaker retailers often bring some of the most unique collaborations to the table, and Hanon is no different this time around. Bringing Scottish and Celtic tradition to the Karhu Legacy 96, the Highland Games are in full swing on their latest collab.
The games themselves are considered by many to be the main inspiration for what became the modern Olympics, traditional Celtic garb is worn by the participants with the colorway on this silhouette matching. Green makes its way onto the midfoots suede and mesh combo, donning Karhu branding and a purple eyestay for pop. The toebox and heel appear to borrow the same material, though coming dressed in orange. Along the tan suede mudguard you’ll find a small hit of white leather, also found on the vamp.
While the tongues come in a mismatch of teal and black, they are actually removable with two matching tongues included. Split branding makes its way onto all the included tongue options, with Hanon and Karhu surrounded by traditional Celtic imagery. Back near the collar, white ponytail salutes the kilt sporran worn by participants in the Highland Games. On the insole, a bespoke tartan pattern with co-branding details ties the silhouette’s Celtic ties together. Finishing the entire look is a tan midsole and outsole combo.
