Founded in France way back in 1882, Le Coq Sportif has provided athletes with sports equipment for a wide variety of sports, running being one in which the brand is making a larger focus as of late. With a long and storied history, a fellow EU-based company, the retailer Hanon, is teaming up with the French-based brand for a celebratory colorway on the LCS R1000 silhouette being dubbed “Circle Of Friends.”
The colorway draws its name from the bar in which Emile Camuset, the founder of Le Coq Sportif, owned and began what eventually became the large sportswear brand it is today. Frequent patrons at the bar were often blue-collar workers, and that is where the various shades of blue across the premium suede and nubuck upper come from. Darker blues land along the mudguard, tongue, and heel while an additional panel on the mudguard and along the collar gets a more vibrant shade. Teal shades are found around the perforated toebox, eyestays, heel, and quarter panel, the latter of which hosts the famous Rooster logo for Le Coq Sportif. More branding details come in the form of embroidered logos with each brand making it to one of the two heels and the tongue labels. Representing the “Circle Of Friends” itself is a graphic atop the footbed and box while the multi-color lace set also symbolizes friendship as a whole. Rounding out the design is a white foam midsole featuring Dynactif, a dual-density foam, paired with a black rubber outsole.
The Hanon x Le Coq Sportif LCS R1000 Circle Of Friends is slated to release exclusively via a raffle on Hanon online, set to end on October 14th, 2022. Releasing in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at £155.00 (approx $170 USD).
