Emerging in the fashion world over the last few years, the Italian-based techwear brand GR10K is continuing its mission to eradicate elitism in an industry so often controlled by those at the top. With a production facility that has been in business since 1925 making workwear and military garments, the pieces in their seasonal collections surprisingly are somewhat affordable and combine classic silhouettes with modern-day fabric and design details. Another brand that is in a similar space, Salomon, has just tapped GR10K for their second collaborative effort, this time on the Quest Low 00 Vassal.
As stated by Salomon, the Quest Low silhouette is “a tactical boot for non-tactical scenarios.” This is achieved through the uppers mesh, suede, and canvas construction, taking on a mainly black appearance with accenting brown, red, and white hits throughout. The latter of these three shades lands on the lace set, sitting atop the brown nylon strip that hosts Salomon branding, while red appears on the lace toggle. Back on the heel, a rubberized panel features a debossed GR10K logo as well as a 3D logo on the brown pull tab up above. This same shade continues onto the sockliner while a co-branded black and white Salomon and GR10K insole breaks up the look. Rounding out the design is the outdoor-ready midsole and outsole combo that gets an earth tone brown finish.
The GR10K x Salomon Quest Low is set to release on September 27th, 2022 through Salomon, GR10K, and select retailers online and in-store. Releasing in men’s sizing, the retail price is currently TBA.
