One of the many members of Odd Future who was able to expand past the world of music is Tyler, The Creator, founding his own fashion line and land an ever-popular collab with the historic sneaker brand, Converse. Many of his footwear choices mesh well with his latest clothing releases through the Golf brand, as is the case on the upcoming Golf Wang x Converse Chuck Taylor 70 Ox “Owl.”
Constructed out of its usual canvas upper, the silhouette takes on a majority cream color across its upper, accented by a Corydalis blue throughout. The sneaker's rubber toecap, chrome eyestays, and tonal stitching remain true to a standard pair of Chuck Taylor 70s Ox, though Tyler brings a woodland camo graphic featuring majestic snowy owls, brown tree branches, and orange leaves from a fall tree sprinkled across the entire sneaker. This same pattern is present on the tongue, forgoing any branding details until you reach the co-branded insole. Piping the top of the cream rubber midsole and canvas upper is a hit of the aforementioned Corydalis blue, also present further down on the midsole. Underfoot, a gum rubber outsole completes the look.
The Golf Wang x Converse Chuck Taylor 70 Ox Owl is set to release on July 1st, 2022 through Converse and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $100.
