Originally released on Halloween in 2020, the Reebok Ghost Smasher was made in collaboration with Ghostbusters to help promote the highly anticipated theatrical release of Ghostbusters: Afterlife. Due to the pandemic, the film was delayed numerous times and finally hit theaters on November 19th, 2021. Despite this delay, Reebok went ahead with the release of their Ghostbusters Collection to much fanfare, selling out instantly.
The sneaker, very similar in design to the Reebok Alien Stomper, features an aged white full-leather upper with dual straps on the midfoot and ankle to keep the foot in place. Custom hits tying back to Ghostbusters are found via the branding throughout as well as the glow-in-the-dark proton pack on the back. A vintage style midsole/outsole combination gives off a pre-worn look, like it had been through “The Fall Of New York” in the mid 80s and then some. To top it off, each pair comes in special packaging.
The Ghostbusters x Reebok Ghost Smasher is set to restock on March 16th, 2022 (Gimme a “Hell Yeah!”). It will drop at Reebok as well as select retailers worldwide in-store and online.
