New Balance has seen a huge spike in terms of hype over the last year and a half, thanks in part to smartly placed collaborative efforts and signing big-name brand ambassadors. Add another name to this list with the recent announcement that Danish affordable luxury brand GANNI is getting a crack at designing two New Balance 2002R, bringing luxury and sustainability to the model.
Coming in a classic grey with multi-color accents as well as a cream and turquoise look, the silhouette takes a sustainable turn by constructing the leather and mesh upper with 50% recycled materials. Details remain the same between each colorway with tonal stitching throughout, coming in the shade of the accenting color. The base mesh layer features GANNI text throughout with more hits of the Danish brand appearing on the tongue tag and on the insole below your usual NB hit. Rounding out the look is the NERGY midsole down below set to a green rubber outsole.
Both colorways of the GANNI x New Balance 2002R are set to release on April 13th, 2022 through GANNI, New Balance, and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men's sizing, the retail price is set at $150.
