Copenhagen-based fashion brand GANNI is taking another stride into the sneaker world through a new collaboration with New Balance. Two fresh renditions of the New Balance 1906R follows up their previous efforts on the 2002R.
GANNI’s take on the 1906R employs a white mesh construction across the upper on one pair and a vibrant yellow on the other, which provides a light, breathable feel. Overlays of tonal leather along the toe and midfoot lend a sense of luxury to the athletic silhouette, with black accents offering a stark contrast. The midfoot's signature "N" logo is created from yellow nylon that matches the heel tab and lends a vibrant pop. While not confirmed at this time, the model will likely be made up of vegan materials. GANNI’s prior collab with NB featured an animal-free build as part of the brand's 2021 pledge to move away from leather entirely by 2023. Underfoot sits a tonal midsole paired with a black outsole.
The GANNI x New Balance 1906R Pack will release on August 17, 2023 through New Balance, GANNI, and select retailers online and in-store. The sneaker will be available in men’s sizing, with the retail price set at $170.
