Happy early birthday to Futura. The famed graffiti artist turns 70 years old in less than two weeks (November 17), and it appears he’s already begun to celebrate. In his most recent Instagram post, Leonard McGurr (his real name if you didn’t know) posted an upclose shot of an interesting-looking pair of Nike Air Force 1s. If it looks familiar, it’s because it's meant to mimic Futura’s iconic Nike SB Dunk High FLOM collab from 2004.

Back in the early days of Nike SB, the skateboarding division of The Swoosh teamed up with a variety of artists to put their spin on SB Dunks. One of these was Futura, who created the FLOM (For Love Or Money) SB Dunk High in an ultra-limited friends-and-family run consisting of only 24 pairs. Today, these pairs command a mind-boggling price on the aftermarket, with one pair selling for $63,000 at auction via Sotheby’s.

As for the Nike Air Force 1 pictured here, we see the same pink sockliner, green suede upper, and banknote print on the base as the FLOM SB Dunk High. Here, we also see “LXX” printed on the lateral heel, the Roman numeral for 70 as a nod to Futura’s age. The pair is also limited to just 70 units, as indicated by the reverse of the tongue. Futura logos and artwork on the insole help complete the design.

Unfortunately for the masses, the Futura x Nike Air Force 1 Low FLOM will be limited to friends-and-family of Leonard in celebration of his 70th birthday. Hopefully more images emerge of the sneaker, and perhaps some long-shot at someone not in his inner circle owning a pair.
