Back in June, you may have heard about Vans teaming up with Fugazi. No, not the hardcore punk band that’s been around for decades, but the streetwear label that shares the same name. A Vans exec quickly came out to clear up any confusion, and the collab that dropped in Paris was nowhere to be found. That is, until now. Fugazi took to Instagram today to clear up some “legal” matters and cleverly referenced the incident by bleeping out any reference to the word Vans. Quickly following up the tongue-in-cheek promo was an announcement that they’d be selling $5 shoes, and again, make sure not to reference that they’re Vans.
Fugazi Vans for $5
On the Fugazi website, there are multiple vans (not Vans shoes, vans as in vehicles) with various finishes and graphic patterns. Some of the vans include a denim-covered “Jan,” a “Cargo Hunting Vehicle” with camo coating, a tweed-covered vehicle named “Fancy Nancy Runs Great!” and even a ponyhair finish named “Brute Pony.” If you haven’t caught on yet, the vans on the product page are meant to represent the material and color used on the Vans shoes.
Fugazi Vans Release Info
The Fugazi Instagram post mentions a drop at Fugazi Los Angeles and Fugazi New York. LA will have a drop at 2 PM PST on August 15, while the NYC location will have a release on August 16 at 2 PM EST. If you’re unable to make it to the city itself, the Fugazi Vans are also being offered via a QuickDraw.
The raffle closes in 72 hours, and if you are selected as a winner, you will only be charged $5 plus the cost of shipping for the shoes. There’s a disclaimer attached that the photos of the vans do not depict the product you will receive. The pair that you receive will be randomly mismatched, with one pair being for the colorway you selected.
