Streetwear and sneakers are a global phenomenon, and Jordan Brand isn’t letting any corner of the globe go untouched when it comes to collabs. The latest partnership between a fashion brand and The Jumpman comes all the way from Ghana, where streetwear design collective Free the Youth has teamed up to produce a bright, wild, eye-catching friends and family Jordan 1 Mid colorway.

The ultra-exclusive Free The Youth x Air Jordan 1 Mid F&F is a study in maximalism, taking every panel and packing it with as much color, material, or graphic accent as possible. Starting with a yellow leather toe, blue leather toebox, and red leather front support wings, the shoe only gets wilder from there.

More solid color is added to the orange midsole, but the side panels go with graphic flair instead, adding an upside-down FTY logo in neon green against a black background to match the neon green laces. The heel panel brings more black, but interrupts it with a large graphic of an eagle spreading its wings across the heel and embroidered stars beneath that. An additional eagle patch is added with a velcro backing that can be moved around the pair like it’s flying. Numbering on the inside of the tongue tag suggests the shoe is limited to just 175 pairs. Free The Youth has been putting out clothing, hosting events, and uplifting the local community in Accra since 2016, so the 10th anniversary collab with Jordan is more than well deserved.

The Free The Youth x Air Jordan 1 Mid F&F will not be released to the public, so expect these pairs to be highly sought after and extremely pricey if they ever make it to the secondary market. For all the latest Air Jordan collab news, be sure to download the Sole Retriever mobile app.
