Individuals behind the scene in the sneaker industry are often overshadowed by the brand itself with only those in the know or who do a deep dive knowing those that help create some of the most coveted products in the game, however, a select few make it past the curtain. One of these individuals, Frank Cooke, is an industry veteran who has worked with Jordan Brand, Wish ATL, and countless other endeavors in the past with various brands who is now teaming up with Saucony on an ultra-limited collaboration via the Jazz 81 silhouette.
Simple colorblocking remains effective for the suede, mesh, and leather upper as furry pink suede along the mudguard accents the silver mesh and Saucony logo along the toebox and midfoot respectively. Back along the heel overlay sits a large purple overlay that meets with the silver heel tab hosting “1981” text, nodding to the original release year of the Jazz 81 silhouette. Taking over the majority of the upper is a black hairy suede that matches the tongue and lace set while the “Saucony” branded tongue tag utilizes the same pink and purple seen on the aforementioned suede overlays. Rounding out the design is the white foam midsole paired with a black rubber outsole.
Limited to 750 pairs, the Frank Cooke x Saucony Jazz 81 is set to release on December 9th, 2022 exclusively through APB Store’s various storefronts and via a draw on apbstore.com. Releasing in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $100 (though according to Frank Cooke, the “first buyers will purchase for the price of $19.81).
