Detailed Look at fragment design’s Friends and Family Nike Air Zoom Spiridon
PublishedNike will be retroing the cult classic Nike Air Zoom Spirdion in the OG colorway this December. Before we can get our hands on this release, Nike is injecting some energy into the silhouette through a collaboration with Hiroshi Fujiwara’s fragment design, which has crafted two colorways of the model. Alongside the White and Black colorways, an image of the design label’s friends-and-family version of the sneaker has made its way online.
Appearing eerily similar to the retail version that comes in all-black, the pair differentiates itself with a metallic silver, glittery Swoosh that cuts across the black paneling of the midfoot on the medial side. The retail version features a white-colored leather Swoosh on the medial, though both opt for an all-black lateral Swoosh. Here, you’ll find the usual tooling code part of many of fragment design’s footwear projects.
The rest of the sneaker remains unchanged, including black suede on overlays, black mesh on the base, and tonal black laces on the tongue. Underfoot, the silhouette features the standard Zoom Spiridon molded foam midsole with Zoom Air cushioning paired with a blacked-out rubber outsole.
This friends-and-family iteration of the fragment designs x Nike Air Zoom Spirdion will not be released publicly. However, the retail versions are expected to hit shelves on December 17, 2024.
