Florida Gators QB DJ Lagway Signs NIL Deal with Jordan Brand
Published
This year, the Florida Gators have something to prove. Ahead of the Gators’ first game of the season, Jordan Brand has announced their QB1, DJ Lagway, has joined the roster.
Entering the 2025 NCAA football season, the University of Florida was ranked #15 by the Associated Press. They’re also coming off an 8-5 finish last year in what was arguably the most difficult schedule in college football. Luckily for them, they’ve got one of the best QB1s in the nation in Lagway, who took over for Graham Mertz near the start of the 2024 as a true freshman. In his 12 games played, he had a 6-1 record, threw for 1,915 yards and 12 touchdowns, and held a respectable QB rating of 154.9.

“DJ’s rise is fueled by talent, grit, and a mindset built for greatness,” said Jordan Brand. “This moment marks the start of an exciting new chapter.” The signing couldn’t be more perfect as the Florida Gators are one of a handful of NCAA programs sponsored by Jordan Brand. Just the other day, the team shared images of its latest Air Jordan PEs, a set of Jordan 1s and Jordan 4s cleated for the gridiron. Expect to see DJ take the field tomorrow against LIU in one of these pairs and decked out in Jordan accessories.
Lagway joins a growing roster of football players signed to the Jumpman, including Tetairoa McMillan, Jalen Hurts, Bryce Young, Maxx Crosby, and Puka Nacua. While these are all NFL talent, Jordan Brand recently signed brothers Zion and Zachariah Branch, making DJ only the third player in college football to sign an NIL deal with Jordan.
