Coming almost year after the announcement that Jerry Lorenzo was joining adidas, Lorenzo teases a cobranded adidas x Fear of God hoodie at a recent Los Angles Lakers game. The official partnership announced December 22, 2019, established a third line of Fear of God - Fear of God Athletics. The new line focuses on performance basketball and active lifestyle products that compliment FOG's other two lines, Essentials and Luxury Main Line.
Similar to his mentor Kanye West, Lorenzo left Nike to form a deeper partnership with the Three Stripes. adidas brought on Jerry to reinvigorate its influence both on and off the court. Given the success of his previous collaborations with Nike, New Era, and Converse, there is no denying Lorenzo's impact.
Staying true to his minimalistic style, the first item from Lorenzo's collaboration with adidas is a simple yellow knit hoodie. The hoodie is cobranded with "adidas" and "Fear of God" inscribed across the chest in baby blue lettering. The fit seems similar to Essentials as the hoodie is slightly oversized with no draw strings. Jerry styled the hoodie with a pair of Essentials sweatpants, Fear of God mainline overcoat, and mainline Fear of God The California Slip-Ons.
While there has been no official announcement of when the first adidas x Fear of God collaboration will be available, the hoodie is a sign of what's to come from Jerry Lorenzo's partnership with adidas.
