Earlier this year, LeBron James made a milestone achievement and joined Michael Jordan’s Jordan Brand in signing an endorsement deal with a college athletic department, making Florida A&M University the first school to be sponsored by LeBron James' signature line with Nike. We’ve seen plenty of PEs appear over the last few months and even a collaboration with APB in the works, however, FAMU and LeBron are now set to team up on a “Black” colorway of the Nike LeBron 7.
The iconic mid-2000s performance basketball model gets covered in stealthy black hues and accenting hits of the FAMU Rattlers’ color scheme - orange and green - as well as branding details nodding to the mascot itself. Premium suedes wrap around the toebox towards the heel while Flywire covers the profile of the sneaker in an accenting white hue. Black-on-black shades take over the tongue and lace set while the tag above features the FAMU Rattlers logo and eyestays below that come in the school’s shade of green. Further nods to the HBCU are found via the Swoosh on the midfoot which comes in orange with green trimming and white paint splatter throughout. Further back, you’ll spot the “L23” logo in white while the lining of the tongue comes in a vibrant orange hue. Rounding out the look is the Air Max 360-cushioned midsole in an opaque finish with paint splatter details paired with a green rubber outsole.
