Puma, even with its German heritage, has been connected to NYC for decades as it became a fashion staple and was the endorser of the Knicks legend Walt Frazier. Keeping that in mind, it only makes sense to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Puma Clyde silhouette with the help of NYC staples. Teaming up with Extra Butter and Russ & Daughters, Puma has crafted “A New York City Story” colorway of the classic Puma Clyde.
Early teaser photos don’t give us an entire look at the silhouette, though we do see it keeps its usual leather construction with this colorway coming in a two-tone blue and white. Branding details take on this blue hue while the rest of the model (at least the parts that are visible at this time) take on a white finish. On the back of the tongue, a tag denoting the Extra Butter connection and the title of the collaboration “A New York City Story” are embroidered in blue.
The Extra Butter x Russ & Daughters x Puma Clyde A New York City Story is set to release in 2023, likely exclusive to Extra Butter. As of now, sizing and pricing information is TBA.
