Twenty years ago, the gaming world witnessed one of its most iconic moments during the Evo 2004 Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike Losers Finals. The legendary showdown between Daigo Umehara and Justin Wong culminated in Daigo’s incredible comeback, parrying 15 consecutive hits with almost no health left. This moment has since become a cornerstone of competitive gaming history. Evo's Mark Julio teamed up with Nike to create a special Air Force 1 Low inspired by Street Fighter to commemorate this milestone. Although initially delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic, resulting in pairs quietly landing in outlets, the sneaker’s story soon spread, making it a coveted item among collectors. Evo and .SWOOSH are celebrating by giving away 37 pairs of this exclusive sneaker.
The Evo x Street Fighter Air Force 1 Low features a white canvas upper, a tribute to Ken’s iconic white gi. The upper eyestay showcases a metallic parry spark design, referencing the successful parry mechanic in the game. Additional Street Fighter elements include doubled-up branding that nods to the KO sign and a double Swoosh inspired by Chun-Li’s superattack. Daigo's exact move set inside the tongue during Evo Moment 37 is detailed. The sneaker is finished with a white midsole featuring light blue accents, symbolizing the super meter, and a navy outsole.
