European retailer END has been collaborating with brands such as New Balance for years, previously releasing a Eucalyptus-inspired New Balance 1500. In 2022, the duo are back, this time working on the vintage 70’s inspired New Balance XC72 alongside a 9-piece capsule entitled “Art of Nothing.”
Constructed with premium suede on the "Marblehead" colorway and mesh on the "Natural," both colorways of the END x New Balance XC72 are covered in neutral earth tones. For the "Marblehead," a two tone off-white and grey cover the underlays and overlays respectively. Along the midfoot, the N logo in suede blends in with the off-white details surrounding it, contrasted by the gum rubber overlay on the heel. Finishing up this colorway is the white EVA foam midsole and gum rubber outsole that wraps up around the toebox, featuring a dual designed traction pattern.
For the "Natural" variation, the mesh underlay is replaced with a sandwich mesh. Plush suede still covers the overlays, all of which is dressed in a two-tone off-white and grey look. With the white covering the majority of the silhouette, the accenting grey makes its way onto the N logo on the midfoot and heel underlay. Rounding out the look is the same white EVA foam midsole paired to a gum outsole that wraps up around the toebox.
Both colors of the END x New Balance XC72 are set to release exclusively via a draw through END.com that will end at 7PM EST on February 25th. They will also drop in-store at END. Coming in men's sizing, they will retail for $155. To stay informed on the entire END x New Balance capsule and much more, keep it locked to our Twitter and download the Sole Retriever mobile app.
