Conversations around sneaker leaks have been dominating the online sneaker community in the last few weeks, though really, it’s always a topic of discussion. There’s the camp that loves to know every minute detail, no matter how far in advance the news comes, while others loathe the fact we’re discussing sneakers through mock-ups and color codes nearly a year before they are set to hit shelves. No matter which camp you fall in, the reality is that some leaks can be premature, as plans shift on a dime, and that often means pairs reported can be canceled. Unfortunately, that’s the case with the Eminem x Air Jordan 4 Retro Encore re-release.
Eminem x Air Jordan 4 Retro Encore Canceled
According to Kicks Finder, Eminem’s AJ 4 Encore was removed from Jordan Brand’s Summer 2027 release calendar, with its status up in the air at the moment. This isn’t something unique to the Eminem 4s, as plenty of inline products and collabs are removed from future plans for various reasons. We recently saw that with the Light Aqua Air Jordan 6, which was originally slated to release in Fall 2026, but it was later removed and then reappeared in Summer 2027. Another example is the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG Olive, a pair slated for a Holiday 2024 release that was scrapped. Jordan would later release a low-top version of the shoe in 2026.
Eminem’s Air Jordans have been holy grails for collectors since the original Encore pairs were created in 2005 to celebrate the release of Slim Shady’s album Encore. Only around 50 pairs made it into circulation, most of which went to Em and his friends and family, but in 2017, 23 pairs were produced for a charity auction. Outside of the AJ 4, Em also worked on an AJ 2 that was limited to 313 pairs and a Carhartt AJ 4, which was limited to under 60 pairs.
