Nike SB’s rich history has included some of the most sought-after sneakers of all time, creatively themed colorways, and a huge commitment to the skating community itself. Teaming up with eBay to honor the late founder of Nike SB, Sandy Bodecker, the duo is set to release a tribute to the legend with the eBay x Nike SB Dunk Low that mimics the original pair auctioned for charity back in 2003, however, it will come cut up like the original sample was in order to ensure the auction winner (who we later found out was Bodecker himself) truly had a 1 of 1 sneaker. Truly going all out to honor skateboarding, Nike SB and eBay have also teamed up to open the Skate ‘Em Out Store in Portland, Oregon which will give skaters access to some of the most popular Nike SB releases at the original MSRP from 2002 of $65 - with a catch.
In order to secure these highly sought-after sneakers that are fetching high prices on the secondary market customers must skate the shoes out of the store, ensuring that the shoes go into the hands of real skateboarders in the local Portland skate scene. Included in the offerings are the Grateful Dead x Nike SB Dunk Low Pro “Opti Yellow,” Nike SB Dunk High “De La Soul,” and the Why So Sad? x Nike SB Dunk Low.
The eBay x Nike SB Skate ‘Em Out Store will be open on December 9th and 10th from 11 AM PT to 6 PM PT and will be located at the Bodecker Foundation in Portland, Oregon. Check below for a photo of some of the pairs that will be offered at the event and keep it locked to our Twitter and the Sole Retriever mobile app to stay updated on the latest news, raffles, releases, and more in the sneaker and streetwear world.
