Drake Jumps into Another Nike KD 19 Commercial, This Time Calling Out Anthony Edwards

Drake needs to get back to acting. The Canadian superstar got his start in the public eye on the teenage drama Degrassi, but he quickly ditched the screen for the mic after linking with Lil Wayne and signing to his Young Money label. Now, after more than a decade as one of the biggest rappers, singers, and pop stars in the world, Drizzy is reliving his roots with the help of Kevin Durant and Nike.

After starring as Durant’s ultimate Yes Man in the debut commercial for the Nike KD 19, Aubrey reprised his role in a new ad spot, this time showing up at the Slim Reaper’s door with a special delivery. Keeping up the Yes Man theme of the campaign, Drake packs himself into a cartoonishly large wooden crate and ships himself to Durant’s door for a purple surprise.

Popping out of the box like a stripper in a birthday cake, a purple border lines the crate, purple confetti shoots out like a cannon, and Drake appears with the Field Purple pair of KD 19s as Cameo’s “Candy” plays from a hidden speaker. In a rant about how incredible the purple colorway is, Drake adds a shot at Anthony Edwards, joking, “Hey Ant Man, can you drop your purple shoes? Said four kids in Minnesota. Like, no one wants to see those; they want the KDs.” In the caption on IG, Drake added more of the same, writing “Feeling like Diplo the way I’m a Major Glazer.”
