Vans has long been the go-to brand for skaters and streetwear enthusiasts alike, owing much of its reputation to classic silhouettes. Even still, groundbreaking collaborations with figures like Geoff Rowley proved vital for the label in the early 2000s, specifically with Geoff and his Rowley XLT. Fast forward to 2023, the nostalgia is real, especially with notable names like Gallery Dept. breathing new life into the silhouette. But the hype doesn't end there, as Montreal's pride, Dime, steps into the limelight, collaborating with Vans on two distinct renditions of the Rowley XLT.
The Dime x Vans Rowley XLT collaboration is set to bring forth three colorways: the Dime-exclusives, "Birch" and "Black Pink," and the more available "Navy.” Staying true to its roots, this iteration features the Rowley XLT's original nubuck upper construction, complemented by the plush padded interiors. The fusion of Dime and Vans branding is evident, with Dime's signature imprint gracing the vamp and the lateral heel, while Vans maintains its emblematic position. The EVA cushioned midsole ensures comfort and performance, which seamlessly merges with a classic gum rubber outsole.
The Dime x Vans Rowley XLT collection including the F&F Black Pink pair will release September 29, 2023, through a pop-up held by Dime. The White & Navy Dime x Vans Rowley XLT will rleease September 30 via the brand online. A wider release for the Navy pair will release on October 5 through Vans and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price has yet to be announced.
