Hip-Hop and sneakers have gone hand in hand for decades with some of the game's biggest stars co-signing sneakers, like Nelly with the AF1 or the iconic Run-DMC and adidas connection. Nowadays, athletes are no longer the only influencers brands look to for collaborations. For Saucony, this couldn’t be any more true as they’ve tapped the likes of Trinidad James for special colorways on various sneakers in their lineup, yet it seems they’re continuing to dive into the hip-hop world. Bringing the legendary hip-hop supergroup, Czarface, into the picture, their iconic character is brought to life on the Saucony Azura.
Taking on a split color design across its premium leather upper, shades of white, black, and red land on the front, middle, and back of the sneaker respectively. Various perforations appear on the toebox and along the midfoot, broken up by the Saucony logo which hosts sky-blue hits in its circular design. Running through the eyestays is a two-tone black and white set of laces, reaching to the top of the tongue and its Czarface mask molded atop the leather. Back on the lateral heel of the left sneaker, another hit of Czarface branding appears in a golden text while the final hit of the iconic character appears on the rubber outsole. Completing the design is a white foam midsole.
The Czarface x Saucony Azura Czarcony is set to release on October 7th, 2022 in-person at New York Comic Con while an online launch through super7.com and czarface.com will follow on October 12th, coming with an exclusive Super7 action figure. A wider release via Saucony.com as well as at select retailers is slated for October 14th, this drop will not feature the action figure. Releasing in men’s sizing, the retail price is $160.
