LeBron James has had the pleasure of working with various partners over his storied NBA career. He recently became the face of a campaign for Louis Vuitton's Spring/Summer 2024 Collection. While James was dripped out head-to-toe in Louis Vuitton gear, custom sneaker maker Ant Kai crafted what a shoe collaboration between LeBron's Nike signature line and Louis Vuitton might look like with his Air Zoom Generation custom.
Ant Kai took the Wheat colorway of LeBron James' first signature sneaker with Nike, the Air Zoom Generation, and transformed it using patterns directly from Louis Vuitton bags. The custom design mirrors the luxurious aesthetic popularized by Virgil Abloh's Louis Vuitton x Nike Air Force 1 collaborations. The original Wheat colorway's leather edges are preserved, adding depth to the sneaker’s upper. The toe and eyestay panels feature Louis Vuitton's iconic Daimer print, while the mudguard, midfoot, and heel portions display the checkerboard LV pattern. LeBron branding remains in its usual place while we see the Swoosh on the midfoot take on the iconic Daimer print. Completing the look is the standard gum sole unit from the Wheat colorway of the AZG, maintaining the shoe's classic foundation.
These custom Louis Vuitton x Nike Air Zoom Generations are not slated for a public release as it was crafted as a 1-of-1 by Ant Kai.
