Puma has continued to make strides in the “hype” space as the German sportswear brand and rival to adidas continues to grab high-level celebrities and designers to collaborate with. Adding to their list of partners, rapper Cordae (formerly YBN Cordae) has in the past worked with Puma on a handful of collaborative projects and looks to continue this in 2023 with a two-pack of sneakers including the Puma Suede and RS-X.
Taking on the moniker of “Hi Level,” the sneaker's naming convention comes from Cordae’s music label of the same title with the rapper covering both models in stealthy black and grey hues. For the Puma Suede, grey suede details land along the mudguard while black panels of the same material take over the midfoot and eyestays. Leather and canvas make an appearance on the white Puma Formstrip along the midfoot and the collar respectively with the former of the two also hosting a “Hi Level” tag. Co-branded details on the insole denote the Cordae connection while the tongue tag is taken over by Hi Level’s logo. Underfoot sits a white midsole paired with a white rubber outsole.
Rounding out the pack is the Puma RS-X which takes on a monochromatic all-black finish. The chunky dad shoe-Esque silhouette takes on an array of materials including textured and smooth leather as well as suede, canvas, and TPU. The various panels switch back and forth between the aforementioned materials and just like the Puma Suede the model gets its branding replaced with Hi Level details on the tongue. Underfoot sits a black-on-black midsole and outsole combo which completes the design.
The Cordae x Puma Pack is set to release on February 23rd, 2023 through Puma and Foot Locker online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $90 for the Puma Suede while the Puma RS-X is priced at $120.
