Salomon continues to make waves in the fashion industry as the bustling mountaineering label has begun the transition into the “hype” world with collaborative efforts across the industry. One brand that has a solid history with Salomon and plenty more inside and outside of the footwear landscape is Comme des Garcons which recently presented its Fall/Winter 2023 collection that featured a futuristic collaborative silhouette with Salomon.
Designed similarly to the brand’s new PULSAR ADVANCED silhouette, CDG keeps its usual monochromatic neutral color palette of all-black and all-white on two colorways of this unnamed model. Across the upper, you’ll notice a laceless design that features TPU overlays around the mudguard, vamp, and near the edge of the upper and sole unit while the toebox and portions of the midfoot get covered in a lightweight mesh. Salomon branding is present in a tonal shade for each colorway near the lateral heel while the spine of the heel features a nylon pull tab. On the forefoot where you’d normally find laces sits a ripstop nylon with the interior of the model featuring a neoprene bootie construction. Rounding out the design is the chunky tonal midsole and outsole that matches the uppers of each respective colorway.
The Comme des Garcons x Salomon FW23 Footwear Collection is set to release in the Fall/Winter 2023 season through Dover Street Market and select retailers online and in-store.
