Bridging the gap between Eastern and Western culture, the Edison Chen-run fashion label CLOT has worked with major brands across both hemispheres. When it comes to the West, his link-ups with Jordan Brand, Nike, and Converse have drawn significant attention with the latter of the three giving the brand another project to work on. Teased via an Instagram post by Chen himself, we’re getting first looks at the upcoming CLOT x Converse Chuck Taylor All-Star 70 “Panda.”
While 2022 has proven black/white color combos (often referred to as “Panda”) are king, CLOT is directly referencing the loveable creature both through its color palette and material choice. While the typical white rubber toecap remains, the upper comes split between white faux fur and fuzzy wool between both the lateral and medial sides as well as each the left and right pair respectively. Both sneakers in the set will come with a black tongue while the left pair features black laces and the right features white, adding more panda vibes to the model. Without a clear look at the lateral side, we don’t know if a redesigned All-Star logo will be present, but we do know the medial side comes with a blacked-out circular patch made of a wool-like material. Rounding out the design is the vulcanized rubber midsole and clear rubber outsole.
The CLOT x Converse Chuck Taylor 70 Panda and CLOT x Converse Jack Purcell are set to release on November 18th, 2022 through CLOT, Converse, and select retailers online and in-store. Releasing in men's sizing, the retail price for the Chuck Taylor is set at $130 while the Jack Purcell will retail for $120.
