Edison Chen and CLOT have been pushing the boundaries of sneaker design in their collaborations with adidas over the past year. Their innovative approach has resulted in unique reworks of classic silhouettes, including the adidas Superstar and an espadrille-inspired Gazelle. These designs reflect Chen's evolved design language, influenced by a summer trip to Europe, emphasizing a more sophisticated and classical aesthetic. Their latest reveal, the Dress Superstar, further exemplifies this design philosophy.
The Dress Superstar retains the core DNA of the iconic Superstar, evident in the shape and paneling of the upper. However, it incorporates new details, materials, and a sole unit that evokes a dress shoe. The upper, excluding the traditional rubber toecap, is crafted from sleek black patent leather.
