The more we see from Edison Chen’s CLOT and NBA superstar Anthony Edwards, the more we feel like Kevin Garnett in Uncut Gems - why would you show me something if I can’t have it!? And yet, here we are again, looking at another fire (pun intended) AE 1 collaboration that none of us will ever get our hands on.

Posted on X by adidas basketball global brand marketing lead Miles Jackson-Cartwright during Edwards’ “Believe That” China tour with the Three Stripes, the latest CLOT x AE 1 starts with black across the front of the shoe, covering the toebox, tongue, and laces, before exploding into flames on the generative support wing. Both side panels feature a gradient orange flame pattern, a theme that continues to the orange sock liner and logo hit on the heel.

In the original post, Jackson-Cartwright noted that the orange flame color scheme was a PE, but in a follow-up, he dropped the bombshell that they were a 1-of-1 made exclusively for Edwards to wear on his China trip. The first CLOT x AE 1 came in a blue flame colorway, but after a fair bit of anticipation, we found out last week that one was a friends and family exclusive. This time around, it sounds like even Edison is out of luck.

Anthony Edwards is still in China with adidas, officially debuting the AE 2, hanging with Yao Ming, and dropping quotables in every room he enters, but if you were hoping to add a CLOT x AE collaboration to your collection, keep dreaming.
