Taking on the the GEL-1090, GEL-1130, and GEL-NIMBUS.
For Cecilie Bahnsen's second Paris Fashion Week show, not only did her core collection manage to turn heads, but the upcoming Cecilie Bahnsen x ASICS SS23 Collection was also put on full display, delighting footwear fans everywhere. Applying her dainty floral aesthetic to three of the Japanese sportswear brand's most iconic silhouettes, the Copenhagen-based designer managed to perfectly combine masculine silhouettes with feminine elements.
Working on the GEL-1090, GEL-1130, and GEL-NIMBUS, each pair boasts a retro mesh and leather base to keep in line with the original ASICS designs. With that said, Bahnsen has added her signature floral motif to each pair for a look that we can't help but admire. While some pairs are decorated with little bouquets across the toe box and heel, similar to her Suicoke collab from 2020, others, like the GEL-1090, feature an explosion of metallic petals that perfectly complement the model's retro vibe. There's also a GEL-NIMBUS colorway that is flanked with lacy flowers across the lateral and medial side panels, and "Triple Black" options as well for sneakerheads who want something a little more subdued.
Not much else is known about the Cecilie Bahnsen x ASICS SS23 Collection at this moment in time, but it'll release in Spring or Summer 2023 most likely in women's sizing. Retail prices have yet TBA, but these should be available at Cecilie Bahnsen, ASICS, and a select retailers online and in-store within the coming months.
