Canelo Will Wear Custom Amiri Boxing Shoes for Crawford Fight

The bell rings on the biggest boxing match in years tomorrow, a bout between Saul “Canelo” Alvarez and Terence Crawford with the middleweight title on the line, at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, and with his undisputed championship on the line, Alvarez will step into the ring in style.

Going designer over sportswear for the Netflix fight, Alvarez will lace up a pair of custom-made Amiri boxing shoes in black and gold. Designed like a high-top sneaker, the boxing boots have mesh, nubuck, and leather construction with a custom-built sole for grip, comfort, stability, and support.

In addition to a massive folded-over tongue logo with Alvarez’s “CA” initials logo in gold, the shoe features a Mexican flag hangtag to represent Alvarez’s home country, Amiri branding across the back of the ankle, and an “MA” monogram logo on the heel for Amiri designer and namesake Mike Amiri.

Boxers have taken to more elaborate footwear over the past few years, with fighters like Lamont Roach Jr., Nate Diaz, and Gervonta Davis wearing custom-built Nike and Jordan boxing shoes into the ring.

You won’t be able to buy your own pair of Amiri Canelo boxing shoes because they aren’t dropping for the public, but you can still shadow box in front of the TV while you’re watching the fight and pretend you’re him; we won’t tell anyone.
