2022 has been a significant year for women in the footwear industry, from Nike’s “50 For Her” to various releases across brands designed by and exclusively for women. Over at adidas, their partnership with WNBA star Candace Parker is starting to expand with Part II of their collaborative efforts, which ranges from footwear to clothing, receiving a release date.
As stated by Parker in the official press release, “Women and girls need more athletes who look, work, think, dream and play like them now more than ever. Our hope is to empower the future of women in basketball and inspire every young hooper to create their own legacy. Part II is influenced by my personal journey and dedicated to the people who have been there every step of the way, especially my daughter Lailaa."
With this second collection, an all-new basketball silhouette, the adidas Exhibit B, will launch in three colorways inspired by her personal journey. The “For Lailaa Nicole” colorway gets covered in shades of grey, white, emerald green and accented by silver hits, all of which take over the textile upper and "Lightstrike" midsole. Being the only star is not what Candace is about, rather, she’d prefer to share the spotlight which results in the “Game Royalty” colorway. Taking on purple and gold regal shades, the sneaker comes inspired by African queens. Finally, the last special edition colorway comes in an ash blue and shadow navy mix honoring the “Windy City,” signifying the city of Chicago and the WNBA title her and her team won in 2022. On top of these three colorways, three “Elevated Team” colorways help emphasize the magic of teamwork and come in clean, easy-to-wear colors of "Grey," "White," and "Black."
The apparel offered in the collection covers both pre and post-game fits. Show up to the arena in her signature “Ace” sweatsuits, cropped jackets, hoodies, and an assortment of tees and shorts that will call back to iconic moments in Candace’s career.
The entire Candace Parker x adidas Collection Part II will release exclusively through adidas and Dicks Sporting Goods online and in-store on August 1st, 2022. Both clothing and sneakers will release in unisex and extended sizing with he retail pricing ranging from $35-$120.
