The WNBA was missing one of its brightest stars for most of the 2025 season after Caitlin Clark decided that a nagging groin injury would be season-ending just 13 games into the year. That didn’t stop the Indiana Fever from making it to the Conference Finals, and now, Clark is back on the court running full-speed 5-on-5 at Team USA Camp, and she’s doing so in a brand new pair of red, white, and blue Nike Kobe 5 Protro PEs.
USA Basketball posted a video of the national squad in a full-court scrimmage on Friday, focusing on Caitlin’s return from injury, showing the Fever star pulling up off a fast-break for a deep two that looked like classic 22. Of course, we’re happy to have Caitlin back on the court, but we’re also focused on the sneakers she pulled out for the Team USA practice.
As we await Caitlin’s impending Nike signature sneaker, the sharp-shooter has been channeling The Black Mamba with plenty of Kobe PEs. Clark’s latest pair of Kobe’s is a new Kobe 5 Protro PE in a full flag of Team USA colors. The shoe starts with a white base, then adds red on the toe and blue on the heel, with a gradient on the lace panel to delineate the color switch. The colorway is finished with a blue patent leather accent on the heel panel and Kobe sheath logos on the tongue.
The Nike Kobe 5 Protro USA PE will probably show up more as we get deeper into the national team camp, but don’t expect to get a pair for yourself. To stay up on all the latest Caitlin Clark sneaker news, download the Sole Retriever mobile app.
