It’s hard to escape the ever-expanding sport of Formula One. The Netflix series Drive to Survive brought more eyes to the sport, especially in America, and as more interest grows here in the States, there comes room for more drivers on the track. This season, F1 has added a new team to the mix, with Cadillac Formula 1 joining the fray as the second active American-owned team, the other being Haas. To celebrate the new team, Cadillac Formula 1 commissioned two special pairs of Nike Dunk Lows inspired by the livery on the team’s car for the first American race of the season.
Coinciding with the Miami Grand Prix, which takes place today, Cadillac Formula 1’s Nike Dunk Low is limited to just two pairs. One was made in size 11 for Dan Towriss, the team's CEO, and his wife, Cassidy, the team's Chief Brand Advisor. The design mirrors that of the special livery created for the team’s first race in the States, which retains Cadillac’s black-and-white color palette but integrates the Stars and Stripes motif. The front wing of the car contains 50 stars, an obvious homage to the 50 states, though the Dunk, for some reason, has 60 stars, 30 on the lateral and 30 on the medial.
Moving past this oversight, the Cadillac Dunks are coated in a grey, black, and white color palette, reserving black details for the Swoosh, Nike and Cadillac logos on the heel, the lace set, and the Cadillac-branded leather tongue label. The lace dubrae displays the date “05/03/2026” between the left and right shoes, marking the date of the Miami Grand Prix and the team’s first American race.
As mentioned, the Cadillac Formula 1 Team’s Nike Dunk Low is limited to just two pairs for Dan and Cassidy Towriss. Hopefully, the special kicks can bring the team some luck on the track during the Miami Grand Prix, as they had an abysmal qualifying and will start the race in the 20th and 21st positions.
