2021 was a huge year for Travis Scott. His large festival run, continued Nike collaborations, musical features, teasing his upcoming album Utopia, and last but not least, his collection with Dior being showcased at Paris Fashion Week. After the tragedy that occurred in Houston, Texas at his Astroworld Festival, Scott and his brand partners quietly shelved any and all products associated with the superstar. As time has passed, the founder of Cactus Jack has begun to make his way back into the public eye, both musically and through his fashion. Now with his Reverse Mocha AJ1 set to drop in July, word has begun to spread that the infamous Cactus Jack x Dior Collection is set to see a release in the coming weeks.
Included within the collection is a variety of ready-to-wear pieces from varsity jackets, bucket hats, socks, graphic tees, and more. Some of the highlight pieces include his tribute to the late Pop Smoke with a graphic t-shirt depicting the Brooklyn rapper in shadowy imagery, the aforementioned varsity jacket with custom Cactus Jack x Dior font that merges both brand's iconic fonts, and snappy dress coats in varying colorways.
On the footwear side of things, Scott has taken the inspiration from archival Dior sneakers to create the Cactus Jack x Dior B713, nodding to Houston’s area code in its name. A mixture of mesh, suede, and leather dress the silhouette, which has been spotted in multiple colorways. On the toe, a dual-layered suede sits above a premium mesh that runs towards the midfoot. Eyestays host enlarged flat laces, working up to the Christian Dior “CD” logo atop the tongue. On the high-quality leather collar, a Cactus Jack x Dior tag in black and white is tucked between the suede mudguard and the aforementioned collar. Underfoot, a chunky midsole with tonal stitching details is set to a rubber outsole.
We also see Travis add his touch to the famed Dior B23 High, adding canvas to upper. The construction throughout remains standard with the vulcanized rubber toecap, midsole, and outsole remaining true to the original. A custom "Dior" graphic adorns the midfoot, bleeding down onto the midsole nearby its standard Dior text.
The entire Cactus Jack x Dior Collection is set to release on July 13th, 2022 through Dior online and in-store. Though pricing has yet to be announced, expect the usual high retails seen from luxury fashion houses.
