Allen Iverson was dominating the hardwood floor before he even stepped foot on a professional or college court as his performance during his high school years at Bethel High earned him the High School Player of the Year award from AP in both football and basketball. On top of this, both sports teams won their division championship with AI on the roster. While years later we would see AI’s career play out in the NBA, including his iconic signature sneaker line with Reebok, sometimes it's good to look back at your roots. That’s exactly what Reebok and EU-based retailer BSTN are doing as Allen Iverson’s Reebok Question Mid is coming to us in a “Bethel High” colorway.
Dressed in its usual material makeup of tumbled leather and suede, the Question Mid takes on white shades for most of its upper with green and yellow accents (the colors of the Bethel High Bruins) spotted throughout. On the toe we see green suede take over while the lacing system and tongue nearby continue the theme of white. Eyestays that normally spell out Reebok get replaced with vector logos on the medial side and “BSTN” on the lateral in a slightly green hue with more branding, like the vector logo on the tongue, taking on a green/yellow combo. More differences on the lateral side include BSTN’s star logo embroidered into the midfoot and the inclusion of a BSTN-branded rubber hangtag. Back on the heel, we get split materials and colors where the Question logo resides as the left side gets a basketball short-like mesh and the right features a football-ready material in yellow and green respectively. Rounding out the look is the white Hexalite-cushioned midsole with the numbers “3” and “10” placed on the left and right heel respectively paired with a semi-translucent blue rubber outsole.
The BSTN x Reebok Question Mid Bethel High is set to release in 2023 exclusively through BSTN online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is currently TBA.
