Bryant Giles is no stranger to footwear collaborations, as the artist and designer teamed up with New Balance in 2022. Now, Giles is moving to Asics to bring his vision to the ever-popular GT-2160 model through his Gone Homme label.
The Bryant Giles x Asics GT-2160 boasts a crisp white upper, complemented by cream-hued leather overlays that subtly contrast and depth the sneaker's design. The choice of a wide-spaced mesh base ensures breathability and comfort. Including mismatched houndstooth-patterned laces in varying shades introduces a playful and unexpected element to the sneaker. Although branding for Bryant Giles or his Gone Homme brand is conspicuously absent from the upper, a hang tag adorned with a hand-drawn smiley face by Giles adds a personal touch. The sneaker's foam midsole is presented in a striking blue color. Yet, it hides a unique feature: seven layers of paint that, as they wear away over time, reveal a rainbow of colors beneath, inviting the wearer on a visual journey of discovery with each step. The design is completed with a durable black outsole, ensuring longevity and traction.
Bryant Giles’s Asics GT-2160 currently has no confirmed release date with Giles hinting that the pair may be a friends and family exclusive. The design comes as part of Gone Homme’s “I’m Alive” Collection, which features collaborative apparel that is set to release exclusively in Japan.
