Brain Dead Brings Hi-Tech Lace Cover to New Space-Age adidas Taekwondo

Continuing an ongoing partnership between fun-loving streetwear label Brain Dead and German sportswear giant adidas, a new two-pack of Taekwando colorways brings one classic leather pair in black and a second, space blanket silver pair with a digital device of some kind implanted in the custom lace cover.

Starting with the silver pair, the Brain Dead x adidas Taekwondo features a shiny silver upper, custom soccer boot stitching on the toe, and black accents on the Three Stripes, sole, and Brain Dead logo. Instead of a traditional tongue and laces system, Brain Dead hardwired custom lace covers with “Brain Dead Systems” written on both shoes and a tiny screen and two buttons labeled “Mode” and “Reset” on the left shoe. We’re not quite sure what the supercomputer can do, but we’d guess it's something like step counting or mile tracking.

The black and white pair is significantly simpler, adding black leather to the entire upper, a gum sole underneath, and silver Three Stripes on the side. The custom toe stitching is the same as the silver pair, and Brain Dead logos are featured on the logo behind the stripes and on the insole.

The Brain Dead x adidas Taekwondo collection will be released Holiday 2025 through Brain Dead, adidas, and select retailers in-store and online.
