Hailing from Boston, Bodega has become a go-to destination for many sneakerheads in and out of the New England area to cop the latest releases. On top of the brand carrying highly-coveted sneakers, they often work with footwear labels on collaborative collections. Recently teaming up with adidas and BEAMS on a three-way collab and Hoka for an outdoor-ready series of sneakers, Vans has tapped Bodega to create two colorways of the Cali-based legends OG Chukka LX.
Coming as a part of what the duo dubs the “Mid-Top Modern” Pack, the classic Chukka silhouette gets elevated with premium materials and a clean combination of colors. On the “Khaki” colorway, we see canvas material take over the moccasin-inspired sneaker with raw leather trimming the edge of the sockliner and eyestays. The other pair in the pack, a muted “Red” color scheme, takes on high-quality suede throughout its design. Tonal stitching adds some depth to the simply-constructed sneaker while accenting hits of color appear on the metallic eyelets, lacing system, and mesh tongue. Vans branding is placed on a small tag near the collar, while the insole features a co-branded Vans and Bodega logo. Our final hit of branding from Bodega is found along the metallic gold aglets on the tip of the laces. Rounding out the design is the vulcanized rubber midsole which comes in gum on the “Khaki” pair and black on the “Red” colorway.
The Bodega x Vans OG Chukka LX Mid-Top Modern Pack will be released on April 14th, 2023, through Bodega online and in-store. Releasing in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $115.
