Bodega has been at the forefront of pushing sneaker culture since its inception in 2006. Having collaborated with various global brands, they’ve consistently delivered iterations reflecting the brand's ethos and its distinct vision. Now, they are set to merge their design perspective with Asics, a titan in the athletic footwear domain. This union focuses on one of Asics' latest silhouettes, the Gel-NYC, and the resulting design titled "After-Hours" promises to encapsulate the nocturnal essence of city life.
Diving into the details, the Gel-NYC "After-Hours" portrays a harmonious blend of dusky colors. The grey purple mesh that forms the base evokes an urban twilight, complemented by contrasting grey Asics Tiger Stripes that dominate the midfoot. Adding depth to the design are deeper purple tones that adorn the sockliner, eyestays, and selected areas of the tongue. However, the vibrancy of city nights is not left behind, with energetic green details highlighting the heel tab and a striking red Asics logo on the lateral heel punctuating the design. The majority of the upper features plum-like shades of purple and brown fuzzy suede which is found along the toe and midfoot. Bodega branding comes visible on the medial heel while the lateral side proudly displays the usual Asics text, both of which come in red. Underfoot sits the usual Gel-NYC midsole in white paired with a purple rubber outsole.
The Bodega x Asics Gel-NYC After-Hours will release September 29, 2023, exclusively via Bodega online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $180.
