Previously working on a handful of see-through adidas Superstars, Blondey McCoy has been tapped again by the Three Stripes. This time however, he has developed his own model by combining a Gazelle Indoor, Indoor Super, Wensley, and his own Blondey Superstar. All of this culminating into the Blondey McCoy x adidas A.B. Gazelle.
Pulling elements from the four, this model has a retro indoor football design with modern materials. For the base, a ripstop material is utilized alongside TPU overlays in a “Slate” color. Using TPU on the upper, the material is, as Blondey himself puts it on Instagram, “Approximately seven times more durable than leather or suede,” Aiding the skateboard focused design. These glossy TPU accents along the mudguard, eyelets, heel tan and Three Stripes give off dress shoe vibes. Along the mid foot portion, the usual adidas branding is swapped for Blondey. Heading back to the glossy heel tab, standard adidas branding remains. Underfoot, a heavily tractioned gum rubber midsole and outsole finish the design.
The Blondey McCoy x adidas Gazelle A.B. Is set to release in 2022. Expect it to be available through adidas and select retailers online and in-store. Pricing has yet to be announced.
