Having not seen a retail release in over 40 years, the Nike Eagle was a silhouette lost in time, as well as in the archives. Now in 2022, Nike is bringing this vintage running silhouette back with the help of Black Comme Des Garçons.
Originally designed as a road racing sneaker, Black CDG is putting its elevated touch on the Nike Eagle. Coming dressed in an all-black look, the silhouette is covered by panels of suede, nylon, and leather. Sitting atop the nylon base is a premium suede, making up the eyelets, mudguard, and heel overlays. Along the midfoot, you’ll find a black leather Nike Swoosh that runs back over the heel overlay to the CDG branded heel tab. Further Black CDG branding makes an appearance on the insoles with co-branding between the two brands. Rounding out the look is black rubber midsole and outsole pairing.
The Black Comme Des Garçons x Nike Eagle is set to release exclusively through CDG locations in Japan as well as Dover Street Market worldwide. Coming in men's sizing, the pair will retail for $265.
