Nike brought back its archival gridiron sneaker, the Nike Field General 82, earlier in 2024, with the Samba-esque silhouette so far launching in tons of inline colors and a collaboration with Union LA. Now, after getting looks at upcoming pairs like the I Love Limes and Elemental Pink Obsidian colorways, the model is getting an avant-garde makeover courtesy of BLACK COMME des GARÇONS.
Coming as part of CDG’s upcoming Black and Pink MARKET MARKET pop-up shop at the Harajuku Hakkakukan building in Shibuya, Tokyo, the sneaker takes on a black base layer with MARKET MARKET branding plastered in a warped pattern across the entire upper in white. More solid black hits are found on the lace set, sockliner, heel tab, and Swoosh, with the tongue dipped in the MARKET MARKET graphic print. Not visible in these photos are the heel tab and insole, which possibly come with BLACK CDG branding details. Underfoot, the midsole takes on a translucent gum finish to reveal the MARKET MARKET print that extends down the sidewall onto the rubber outsole.
The BLACK COMME des GARÇONS x Nike Field General 82 will launch as part of the Black and Pink MARKET MARKET pop-up at 1F, 6-4-1 Jingumae, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, Japan. The pop-up takes place from November 2 to November 14. As of this writing, pricing information has not yet been announced, and there is no word of a wider release, making it more than likely that they will be exclusive to Japan.
