Collaborating together a multitude of times in the past, the Japanese label BEAMS and Paris’ own Paperboy Paris are set to join forces on a duo of NB silhouettes. This collaborative effort is more than just another triple collab for the sake of drumming up hype. Instead, the two brands are paying tribute to New Balance’s Flimby factory in the UK on the BEAMS x Paperboy Paris x New Balance 920 Made in UK and 1500 Made in UK.
Both silhouettes stay within the same realm of color and construction, taking on a suede and mesh combo in the classic NB grey with accenting blue hits, though details throughout differentiate these pairs from your standard release. On the base of the NB920, BEAMS, and Paperboy keep things tame with a grey mesh, accented by navy blue details on the vamp, quarter panel, eyestays, and heel. Branding details along the midfoot remain true to the OG with a white reflective N logo, though the heel takes on PB920 text on the lateral side. Atop the tongue, more co-branded details can be found. Each pair will come mismatched with overlays and underlays switching between shades of grey on the left and right pair. Underfoot, a white and blue midsole is paired with a light blue rubber outsole.
For the 1500 model, Navy blue suede and mesh details are complemented by grey shades and pastel blues on the quarter panel, collar, and lining of the tongue. Atop the navy suede tongue, split co-branding is featured with both Paperboy Paris and BEAMS sitting below the New Balance text. Along the midfoot, the N logo embroidery is piped with sky blue and white stitching, popping against the grey suede panel. Included with the white laces running up the eyestays is a guitar pick-shaped hang tag with a graphic of the Paperboy Paris logo. The heels 1500 branding is overtaken by PB1500. Completing the look is the white and grey midsole and outsole combo.
The BEAMS x Paperboy Paris x New Balance Made In UK collection has already seen a limited release in-store at Paperboy Paris on June 21st with a worldwide release slated for August 5th, 2022. Coming in men's sizing, the retail price for the 920 is $260 while the 1500 will retail for $250.
