BAPE Puts Their Touch On Two New Balance 57/40

A Bathing Ape still has quite the knack for perfectly executing collaborative efforts, blending their loud colors and patterns with whichever brand they choose to work with. Just last year we saw the Japanese streetwear staple link up with Boston's own New Balance on a duo of 2002R colorways. Fast forward less than a year later, we have yet another duo of BAPE x New Balance sneakers, this time on the 57/40.

Blending 80s and 90s style with modern tech, the 57/40 is New Balance’s updated take on the classic 574 silhouette. BAPE comes in to dress the suede, mesh, and leather model in a familiar grey, black, and silver as well as a vibrant multi-color design, utilizing what both brands are famous for. Though their colors may vary, design elements remain the same across both pairs with shark teeth on the heel and APE head placements on the heel overlay and left foot tongue tag. As for New Balance, their appearance remains semi-traditional with the midfoot N coming covered in BAPE camo while the tongue tag on the right foot houses standard NB branding. Both colorways come complete with a stacked midsole design featuring grey and white on the greyscale pair and a black/white combo for the multi-color offering while underneath sits a black rubber outsole.

Both colorways of the BAPE x New Balance 57/40 will be released in 2022 through BAPE, New Balance and select retailers online and in-store. As of now, pricing and sizing information is unavailable.
