A Bathing Ape is certainly no stranger when it comes to Superstar collaborations. Stretching as far back as the early 2010s, Nigo's streetwear label has been reworking the Three Stripes classic for well over a decade, and now they're back once again with the BAPE x adidas Superstar "Black." Probably one of their most versatile collaboration yet, here's everything that you need to know.
From a distance, BAPE's latest Superstar may look like just another classic colorway, but upon closer inspection there's so much more than meets the eye. Crafted from a slick black leather construction, the Japanese streetwear brand's signature Shooting Star motif glides through the laterals in white, while the German sportswear label's Three Stripes hit the medials. This results in a design that looks strikingly similar to A Bathing Ape's own Skullsta silhouette. Luxe gold foil branding can be found throughout the upper alongside a metallic "BAPE" dubrae, and the legendary shelltoe features on the front for that old school vibe that we all know and love. This is then finished off with the world-famous Ape Head logo that makes a cameo on the tongue, finalizing the simple yet sophisticated aesthetic.
Coming in a special edition shoebox, the A Bathing Ape x adidas Superstar Black is releasing on November 10th, 2022 in men's and women's sizes. Retail is set at $150, and they will be available via BAPE, adidas, the CONFIRMED app, and select retailers worldwide.
