Damian Lillard's signature sneaker line with adidas has been a staple in the basketball footwear market, consistently pushing the boundaries of design and performance. The upcoming adidas Dame 9, the 10th model in the series, was previewed during All-Star Weekend earlier this year. Building on the avant-garde and retro-futuristic design language that defines adidas Basketball, the latest iteration brings a fresh collaboration with the iconic streetwear brand BAPE. Previously, Damian Lillard and BAPE came together on the Dame 4.
The BAPE x adidas Dame 9 features a textile upper reinforced with synthetic overlays for durability and support. Mesh ventilation panels on the midfoot enhance breathability and form the signature Three Stripes pattern. The neoprene bootie ensures an improved fit and added reinforcement, making it ideal for intense on-court action.
This collaboration sees BAPE's famous ABC pattern adorning the red base of the sneaker, with black hues on the tongue and neoprene lining adding contrast. Golden accents highlight the Three Stripes cutout on the midfoot, the BAPE head on the lateral heel, and the Three Stripes logo near the toe. The BAPE STA branding on the heel adds a unique touch, while the black midsole and red outsole, featuring zoned LIGHTSTRIKE cushioning, complete the design.
A second colorway of the BAPE x adidas Dame 9 emerged in a Team USA-friendly color scheme for friends and family and a more traditional Camo color scheme. Alongside the sneakers, the collaboration includes matching apparel featuring a reversible jersey, a Baby Milo shirt, and basketball shorts, all designed to complement the footwear.

The BAPE x adidas Dame 9 Collection will release August 31, 2024, through adidas, BAPE, and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men's sizing, the retail price is set at $160.
