If you’ve never heard the sublime musical stylings of BABYMETAL, we’ve got a treat for you. Combining the intense headbanging vibes of heavy metal with the J-Pop stylings of high-pitched sing-songy pop lyrics, choreographed dance, and coordinated outfits. Imagine if there were a country-hopping K-Pop Demon Hunters sequel where the girl group has to battle GWAR, and you’ll start to get the picture. With 15 years of heavy jams under their belt, BABYMETAL is celebrating the occasion with a Vans collaboration.
The BABYMETAL x Vans Collection features three shoes, one for each member of the group, plus a series of accessories and clothes, including a baby-sized slip-on keychain to bring the band’s infant name to life. Combining heavy metal imagery and plenty of branding from the band, the BABYMETAL collection features three of Vans’ most popular classic silhouettes: a Slip-On, a Sk8-Hi, and an Old Skool.
The BABYMETAL Slip-On features a black base with the band’s Brutal logo added across the upper of both shoes in white and “Babymetal Death” written in Olde English script across the midsole. The Sk8-Hi also starts with a black base and adds a graphic print to the side panel with a lightning strike and billowing flames, once again adding “Babymetal Death” to the midsole. Finally, the Old Skool keeps the theme consistent with a black base and script on the midsole, plus a pair of red all-over print band logo laces.
The BABYMETAL x Vans Collection will be released December 11, 2025 exclusively through Japanese retailer ABC Mart in-store and online. Available in unisex sizing, the retail prices are set at 9,900 yen (approx. $63) for the Slip-On, 13,200 yen (approx. $85) for the Sk8-Hi, and 12,100 yen (approx. $77) for the Old Skool.
