Actress Ayo Edebiri Joins New Balance’s Family of Brand Ambassadors

It all comes back to Bean Town. Boston has been a major factor in the movie world for decades, mostly through the lens of Ben Affleck and Matt Damon’s wicked looks at Southie and Charlestown. In Dorchester, though, another actor has emerged from Boston as a certified star: Ayo Edebiri. The actor and comedian from shows like The Bear and movies like Bottoms is a proud Bostonian, and her latest brand ambassador deal is bringing her home.

From Boston to the Globe

Edebiri is the latest young Hollywood star to expand into the sneaker world, teaming up with Boston-based New Balance to rep the brand in ad campaigns and collaborate on sneaker and clothing capsules. In her debut project with New Balance, Edebiri laced up some 574s for a trip around her Boston stomping grounds.

“I’m always thinking about the stories we tell," says Ayo Edebiri. "Growing up in Boston, New Balance was simply part of the city’s story, so coming together feels incredibly natural. Something I admire about New Balance is that they can tell so many different stories and explore so many different styles, while always staying true to who they are at the core. I’m excited to see what stories we’ll tell together.”
