Founded back in 2012, Awake NY has delivered classic and contemporary styles inspired by the spirit of NYC through their continuous clothing drops and spot-on collaborations with the likes of A Ma Maniere, Crocs, and Asics. It seems the latter of the three wants to continue this partnership as three colorways of the Asics Gel-Lyte III have emerged with the help of Awake NYC.
Dressed in a mixture of corduroy, suede, and plastic overlays, the three colorways keep things simple by coming in two-tone mixes, including "White Green," "Blue Yellow," and "Black Pink." The base layer of corduroy across all the pairs utilizes the first of the aforementioned color combos while the latter covers the suede overlays seen on the toe, eyestays, midfoot, and heel. While usually coming in leather or suede, the Asics logo gets a material mixup with a translucent plastic crossing over a black netting along the midfoot. Back along the heel, Gel-Lyte III branding is present on the left pair while the right gets the Awake logo. More branding details come via co-branding between both brands logos printed atop the insole. Rounding out the look is the white midsole paired with a rubber outsole coming in black and the accenting color of each pair.
All three colorways of the Awake x Asics Gel-Lyte III are slated to release on August 4th, 2022 through select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $130.
